Malouf™ Recognizes National B Corp™ Month

15th Mar 2024 • Malouf Home

LOGAN, Utah—Malouf Home™ is joining thousands of B Corp™ businesses around the globe to recognize B Corp Month in March. This year’s international theme is “This Way Forward,” which shows how companies are moving forward to pave the way for better business.

As a Certified B Corp, Malouf ™is committed to using business as a force for good and continues to make a positive impact. “Being a B Corp means building on our promise to be better every day,” said Ashlee Willes, director of marketing. “As we continue to grow, we want to keep doing the things that align with our mission: people, planet, profits.”

People:

Giving back is a central part of Malouf™ culture. Last year, they worked with their charity arm, the Malouf Foundation™ and other organizations (August Mission and Global Empowerment Mission) to coordinate over $1.7 million in products to displaced people and those in emergency situations. These products were delivered to victims in Florida hurricanes, Kentucky and California flooding, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In addition to these product donations, Malouf™continues to support the Malouf Foundation’s initiatives to fight sexual exploitation, which includes their free OnWatch™ training.

Planet:

Malouf™ is continuing their commitment to sustainable product packaging. MaloufTM has reduced the amount of plastic in their mattress protector packaging by 95 percent, and their updated sheet packaging decreases plastic usage by 66 percent. Additionally, Malouf™ launched a new line of cooling mattresses at Las Vegas Market—the most innovative in the company’s history—and they’re assembled here in the United States. With this shift in production, Malouf™ can improve processes, lower transportation costs, and reduce their emissions and delivery lead time.

Profits:

As a Certified B Corp, Malouf™ is dedicated to delivering sustainable product options that benefit people and the planet. A few of their planet-friendly products include the Botanical Sheet Set with 100 percent TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers, as well as the Talalay Latex Pillow made from sustainability harvested rubber tree sap. Through Salt FlatTM, they also offer high-quality furniture pieces with reclaimed pine, making them sustainably made and thoughtfully crafted.

"Seventy percent of consumers want to know how brands are addressing social and environmental issues,” Willes shared. “Malouf™ is uniquely positioned to speak to these consumers and help retailers sell products to those who are looking for a brand that's doing more."

To become a Certified B Corp, a company must demonstrate high social and environmental performance in multiple areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers. Malouf™ is the largest B Corp in Utah and joins other businesses in the B Corp community like Allbirds, Athleta, Ben and Jerry’s and Tom’s Shoes.
