LOGAN, Utah—The Malouf Foundation announced today it raised more than $103,000 at its third-annual Golf for Freedom tournament on Thursday, Aug. 20 at Birch Creek Golf Course in Smithfield. All proceeds will support child abuse survivors as well as the social workers and law enforcement assisting these children.

“We want to give a special shout-out to our sponsors, charity affiliates, volunteers, and everyone else who helped put this event together,” said Kacie Malouf, Malouf Foundation Chair. “The funds raised from the tournament will support our local Children’s Justice Center and other children’s advocacy centers across the country. With adequate funding, these agencies can conduct interviews, perform medical exams, and provide emotional care for children who have been abused.”

More than 30 teams from across the region participated in this year’s tournament. A few of the Foundation’s charity affiliates also attended, including Citizens Against Physical and Sexual Abuse (CAPSA), the Children’s Justice Center and The Family Place. Event sponsors included Bank of America, Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce, Charity Golf International, CMA-CGM, Codale, Diversified Insurance, Gulf Winds International, Green Gorilla, Legacy Distribution, Mediterranean Shipping Company, Orient Overseas Container Line, MTS Logistics, Plastic Resources Incorporated, ProjectCIP, Pura, River Logistics, The Truss Company, ULINE, Veterans Resources and Young Toyota.

The Malouf Foundation works with dozens of organizations to fulfill its flagship cause. For the past several months, the Foundation has been collaborating with Safe House Project to create a brand-new OnWatch™ training, which is designed to empower people to spot, report, and prevent domestic sex trafficking. The new training is expected to launch this September. To stay up to date on the Foundation’s initiatives, visit malouffoundation.org.
