Forging Freedom Recap – Summer 2021
Twice a year, we host our Forging Freedom event, where we bring anti-human trafficking initiatives to the bedding and furniture industry. It’s an opportunity for us to share with our retail partners the important work the Malouf Foundation is doing and provide opportunities to get involved in the cause.
Thanks to all of you, this summer’s event was a huge success! But in case you missed it, check out the recap video below.
Recognize the Signs of Trafficking
As part of our efforts to improve community awareness about sex trafficking, we introduce retailers to education initiatives like OnWatch—a survivor-led training designed to empower you to recognize the signs of sex trafficking where you live, work, and play. This digital training only takes an hour to complete. And the best part? It’s free. Start your OnWatch training today.
OnWatch Advocate Program
At our most recent Forging Freedom event, we launched the certified OnWatch Advocate Program. The OnWatch Advocate program is an impactful way for businesses, organizations, and communities to engage in the fight against trafficking. Organizations can become certified when 90% of their group completes our free digital training. Once that milestone is reached, groups receive a one-year certification badge indicating their group is committed to the cause of combatting sex trafficking.
When shopping with retailers, keep a lookout for that badge and other OnWatch Advocate materials, so you can support those using business as a force for good. Learn how your business can get involved here.
To join the fight against sex trafficking and supporting a survivor’s path to freedom, you can take the OnWatch training and learn through true survivor experiences, as well as from industry experts, the key indicators of trafficking.
Your support plays such an important part to this cause, and we thank you for joining us in the fight. We hope to see you at our next Forging Freedom event!
