Frequently Asked Questions
-
What are cooling sheets?
If you're looking for a sheet set that regulates temperature, you'll love our Smooth Bamboo Rayon Sheet Set or our Botanical Sheet Set with TENCEL™ Lyocell Fiber. Both fabrics help regulate temperature and wick away moisture and will keep you cool and dry night after night.
-
What is Universal Fit™?
Universal Fit technology means our fitted sheets are made with ultra-thick elastic and extra-deep pockets to ensure a secure fit on a variety of mattress sizes. We created this technology to eliminate the hassle of your fitted sheet popping off every night.
-
Do Malouf sheets work with an adjustable bed base?
Yes. All Malouf sheets have Universal Fit technology with ultra-thick elastic and extra-deep pockets on the fitted sheet, ensuring it stays on, no matter what position you choose to sleep in.
-
How often should I wash my sheets?
We recommend washing your sheets weekly to keep your sleep environment clean and fresh. Many customers have two sets of sheets so they can switch on wash days.
-
What is the difference between a flat and fitted sheet?
Flat sheets are a rectangular shape, finished at the edges, but without any kind of elastic or three-dimensional shape to them. Fitted sheets have corners sewn into them and most often have elastic sewn in on two or four sides. Your fitted sheet goes over your mattress protector.
-
What is included in a sheet set?
All Malouf sheet sets include a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and a pillowcase set. You will receive one or two pillowcases depending what size you are selecting—Twin and Twin XL sets come with one, while all other sizes include two.
-
What is included in a Split King sheet set?
Your Split King sheet set comes with two fitted sheets that are Twin XL sizes to go on each individual mattress. They also come with a regular top sheet and two pillowcases.
-
What is a sateen weave?
Sateen is made from the mercerized fibers of any cotton plant, and woven in a satin weave, meaning multiple threads of the same direction dominate either surface. Sateen has a more shiny, draped look. Malouf Botanical Tencel Lyocell Sheet, and Natural Supima Sheets, have a sateen weave.
-
What is a percale weave?
Percale is a weave of fabric with a simple crisscross pattern. The yarns go one-under one-over, creating a tight-knit structure that is smooth and durable. Percale sheets feel crisp to the touch, and they get softer with every wash. Malouf Soft Knit Brushed Microfiber and Linen-Weave Cotton sheets have a percale weave.
-
What is a twill weave?
Twill is a type of textile weave with a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs. Twill weaves are strong, making the fabric more durable. Our Smooth Bamboo Rayon sheets have a twill weave.
-
Are any Malouf sheets eco-friendly?
All Malouf sheets are OEKO-TEX® certified, meaning they've been tested for harmful substances to protect your health. Products that carry the Standard 100 label have been tested and proven free of harmful levels of toxic substances.
